Marine containment products consist of the following elements:
Freeboard: section of the boom that floats above the water level and acts as an impervious barrier
Draft or Skirt: section of the boom sitting below the water level acting either as an impervious barrier or filtration medium
Ballast: located at the bottom of the skirt to stablise the boom
Connectors: enables an impervious connection of multiple boom lengths
